A woman in Queensland, Australia, captured a snake eating a giant king parrot on the roof of her home. She warned that bird lovers would not like the images when she submitted them to Stuart McKenzie, a snake catcher on the Sunshine Coast, who shared them on Facebook. The snake can be seen in the images hanging from the roof while it consumes its supper.
The about three-meter-long carpet python regularly preys on small animals and birds. Anything is fair game for carpet pythons. They will attack any bird that lands too close since they are opportunistic.
He suggested that the python hit the parrot because it had probably landed too near to it while it was relaxing and basking.
He had witnessed incidents in which they had consumed tiny animals like guinea pigs, and he knew that they frequently broke into chicken coops to consume hens.
“Your tiny pets are what you need to be concerned about,”
They might occasionally accept small dogs and cats.
He claimed that before beginning to ingest their prey, they would bite and squeeze them to death. The snake would “rest” for a few days after swallowing the parrot so that it could digest it.
Even though they are not poisonous, carpet pythons can nonetheless bite you painfully.
